Our Story

We are a husband and wife team with two young children who love everything craInside cafefty.

We decided to take some time out of the rat-race and create a child friendly venue where families and individuals can come to relax, create or just hang out and enjoy our freshly ground coffee.

We found that working in the corporate world doesn't give you much opportunity to use your hands anymore (unless you are using technology!) and even less opportunity to make things with your children.

Our mission was simple, create a space where children can be creatively engaged and adults can be as involved as they want to be.  A few months later (and a lot of very late nights), Craftelicious was born.  We hope to provide children of all ages (and the kid in all of us) with something uniquely crafty to do and delicious to eat.

Why not pop into Craftelicious and you can decide if we've succeeded.

Meet the team
Safina Islam
Co-founder and Chief Decopatcher

Safina has always had an interest in traditional crafts, such as sewing, knitting and baking. Especially if it involves using her hands with a pretty yet practical end. She is a Cell biologist by trade but has worked in policy development within the health sector for the last twelve years. She has not had any opportunity to do anything remotely crafty until the arrival of two daughters who will happily make things all day long (usually involving lots of mess!) They all got addicted to Decopatching whilst on holiday in The Lakes District a couple of years ago and the rest is history...

Mirage Islam
Co-founder and Chief Cake Taster

To put it mildly, Mirage likes anything sweet and so being involved at Craftelicious is a dream. The majority of his career has been spent in the Digital Media Industry advising broadcasters, advertisers and their brands but given the choice, Mirage is most happy having great coffee, a slice of scrumptious cake and enjoying craft activities with his daughters.
Maud Telasuo
In-House Artist

Our in-house artist Maud studied Product Design at Creapole, Paris before embarking on a career in the heady world of the fashion industry making jewellery. 5 years later Maud left Paris for the UK where she pursued her main passion in the arts and set up her own business creating textile jewellery and fashion accessories. Maud experiments with lots of different textures, colours and fabrics using recycled materials and now teaches her up-cycling skills to a wide-ranging audience. You will find the odd creation which has used a little treasure she collected as a child and anything else she was able recycle or re-use.
